Select the Type of Rebuild

The next step in the rebuild process, is to indicate the type of rebuild you wish to perform. From Figure 1, the following options are available:

Figure 1: Select Rebuild Type

Exit - Returns to the previous screen.

Index - This option will reconstruct all index files (e.g., *.IDX) for the tagged relations. This option should be invoked when access to the data via the index files has become corrupted.

Reformat and Index - This option will reformat and reindex the tagged relations. This option causes any unused data areas to be reclaimed and will reconstruct all indexes.

Version Rebuild - This option will reformat and reindex the tagged relations based on the "OLD" DFL file selected. This option is used to update data and indexes created under older DFL versions to the current DFL definition. This option is used when a version change has taken place in a relation definition. When you invoke this option, Figure 2 will be displayed. Highlight the desired OLD DFL and press <Enter>, or press <F2> to enter a new location of the old DFL file you wish to use.
