Additional Idea for Improving Productivity

The Meridian compiler is capable of running under a memory manager such as QEMM (Quarterdeck Expanded Memory Manager). During the port of Sage-ST TM to this compiler it was run under Deskview and QEMM. This allows compiles to be running in the background as other tasks are being performed. The compilation of Sage-ST TM on a Compaq portable (a 2 hour task) was performed several times while other tasks such as editing and compiling of other code were being performed. On one occasion three compilers, an editor and THOR were all running concurrently.

Other programs can probably be used to perform the same function as described above. We are not endorsing Deskview and QEMM as the tools to use, just describing the example of the tools currently in use by the Sage-ST TM developers.
