Key Functions in a Form
Default key(s)
Function
Alt/H This key combination displays help for the key functions available
within the form.
F1 The <F1> key requests help with the application. Help forms may
be programmed within the THOR editor to be invoked related to
specific fields within the form, or the form in general. If this has
been done, these help or follow-on forms may be displayed by this
key. To return to the original form, the <Enter> key is pressed.
Enter The <Enter> key returns from the current form. If you are
within a help form series entered by using the <F1> key, you will
return to the previous form.
Tab The <Tab> key moves from the current field to the next field on the form.
Shift/Tab The <Shift/Tab> key combination moves from the current field to the
previous field on the form.
Arrow Keys The arrow keys move to the entry area of the current field left, right, above,
or below the current cursor position. If there is no entry area for the current
field in the position to move to, the cursor will move to the first character
of the closest field that is positioned in the requested direction from the current
cursor position.
Backspace The backspace key operates the same as the left arrow (see above).
Home The <Home> key positions in the first entry field on the form.
Ins The <Ins> key inserts a character in the entry field at the current cursor
location.
Del The <Del> key deletes a character from the current entry field at the
cursor location.
Ctrl/End The <Ctrl/End> key combination clears the current entry field from the
cursor position to the end.
Ctrl/Home The <Ctrl/Home> key combination clears all entry fields on the form and
positions at the first field.
Ctrl/B The <Ctrl/B> key combination is a toggle that converts the forms from
color to two different black and white modes or the reverse. This is useful
for those systems using the color graphics board with a black and white
graphics monitor since some colors do not appear with acceptable clarity.
Ctrl/K The <Ctrl/K> key combination copies the current contents of the screen
to the SCREEN.CPY file. This may be invoked as many times as desired, since
the copy of the screen gets added to the end of this file and none of the prior
contents are lost.
Ctrl/R The <Ctrl/R> key combination restores the current field to its original contents.
This is only useful if you have not yet left the field. As soon as the cursor leaves
the current field, that field's contents become permanent.
Ctrl/F The <Ctrl/F> key combination shows the name of the current form and the
field in which the cursor is positioned.
